Misa’s Co-op Spotlight – HOARD

I am pleased to introduce my weekly segment entitled Misa’s Co-op Spotlight. The premise is simple, I will be highlighting a game each week in which you can play with other people (WHOA!). We attempted to do this last night but the livestream didn’t really work out, so just look for the video upload every Wednesday (sometimes Thursday) and feel free to leave some comments or recommend a game you would like to see us play in the future.

This week  I was joined by my husband Ben and our step-brother Devon and we played a game called HOARD (created by Big Sandwich Games) in which you are a tiny dragon who flies around and burns things in order to get gold. There is a lot of screwing each other over, stealing of princesses, and of coarse BURNING! The game is available on Steam and the Playstation network for $9.99 with the option of buying a DLC to get more maps and game content. Highly recommended as a short, casual game for friends.

What I’m Playing: Dishonored

Of course, first impressions are the most important and what an impression Dishonored has left on me! So far this game feels like the spiritual successor to Thief, with its intuitive sneak system and steampunk-esque aesthetic. I daresay this could be the sleeper hit of the year if it doesn’t catch much mainstream attention.

Indie Spotlight: Prison Architect alpha

Introversion has been around for quite some time now as an indie game company, but not a lot has come out of the woodwork for them lately. I was pretty excited to hear about their Prison Architect announcement awhile back, but now the game is released in its alpha state. Been playing it for a little while, but unfortunately much of the tutorial was lost on me when it glitched. That means I’m basically learning most of the game in this video. Would love to play more of it and I found myself playing a new base shortly after ruining this one. Check it out!

If you’d like to grab a copy of the game in its alpha state and start playing then check it out on their site here.

Back to video! Janessa and Ryan discuss this year’s E3

Feels like its been forever since I’ve clicked that “Upload Video” button on youtube, but today we return to form.  Janessa was in Portland over the weekend, so we got together to put on a short webcam discussion about all of our thoughts on E3.  I actually thought it went really well and I’m hoping we can figure out how to do it more in the future.

Today’s vlog is all about our impressions of the Big Three at E3 as well as what we thought were the best and worst things on the show floor.

What I’m Playing: Quantum Conundrum

It seems like its been a little while since either What I’m Playing or any sort of gameplay video that I’ve done, so I’m pretty excited to get back to it.  Honestly it was a ton of fun to record something again, I hope you guys like us bringing back an old staple.  Yes, its clocked in at 15 minutes too, which always felt like the sweet spot.

Quantum Conundrum came out last weekend, so I wanted to share what its like.  This video is all new stuff to me, so you can literally see me trying to solve the puzzles in real-time, to mixed success.  At a clip of 2 puzzles per 15 minutes I’m sure this game will take me awhile.  Well in any case, enjoy!
