Pick up your guns, knives and magic powers, the post-holiday season is upon us!
It looks like with so many great-looking games releasing this week we have finally made it out of that dreadful lull in gaming that was January. I don’t plan on playing everything that comes out of this month, but damn there are a lot of things I want to try! Just check out this week’s list:
- Kingdoms of Amalur (today!)
- Gotham City Imposters (today!)
- Shank 2 (Wednesday)
- The Darkness II (today!)
- Jagged Alliance: Back in Action (Thursday)
I hope you’re up to the challenge of proving your age on all of those sites…
In a lot of ways this is really the “didn’t make it to Christmas season” season, but who knows really. Of course there is also SSX and Mass Effect 3 to also look forward to, but this is quite the way to start things off.
It got me to thinking that the only real dull time for gaming these days is that right-after-Christmas lull in January. Obviously nobody needs new games then, but there’s really nothing else going on, no big announcements or even spectacles to appreciate, at least that I know about. Maybe this could be a great time for eSports to really shine, right when everyone is getting really ramped up about other athletic sports.
But from now on its go-time, its pretty much release after release, event after event all the way until December from here on out, so buckle up, I hope its a fun ride this year!
